How it works for studios

One operator. Every artist. No silos.

  • Per-artist creative streams

Each artist's style gets its own ad set, targeting people who book that style. Not generic "studio promotion" that gets nobody booked.

  • Multi-artist discount

30% off each additional artist after the first. The bigger your floor, the better the math.

  • Owner-level reporting

One monthly PDF covering every artist's performance. You see who's booked, who needs more push, what's working studio-wide. No 6 separate reports to read.

  • Per-location billing

Multiple locations? Each gets its own campaign engine and own report. Run them as separate brands or as one, your call.

  • Convention and event pushes

Hosting a guest artist? Running a flash day? Heading to a convention? We spin up short campaigns built around the event window.

  • Walk-in funnel

Optional second campaign for walk-in days, targeted at people in 5km radius looking for same-day work.

The full breakdown Every deliverable in the studio package
  • Campaign build and ongoing optimisation across every artist on the floor. Tuned weekly. Not set-and-forget.
  • Per-artist audience testing and style-matched targeting. Each artist's style gets its own audience and creative stream so neo-trad doesn't get shown to blackwork clients.
  • Creative testing across formats. Static, reel, carousel, run in parallel per artist. Data picks what scales.
  • Simple creative edits where the algorithm rewards them. Collage cuts, reel edits, captioned overlays, all using your existing posts. We do not build creatives from scratch. The artists' work is the selling. A flashy edit can't fix bad content and won't beat good content.
  • Conversion tracking and pixel setup where we control the landing page or the lead form. Two options depending on the campaign direction:
    • A basic tracked landing page that delivers leads straight to the studio's inbox
    • Instant leads in Meta's Lead Center, prefilled from the user's profile
We use whichever fits the campaign, you don't have to think about it.
  • Short-burst campaigns for guest spots, conventions, flash days, and pop-ups. Part of the standard offer, not a paid extra. Tell us the dates and the angle, we'll run the push for the artist or the studio brand.
  • Owner-level monthly report. Designed PDF, one document covering every artist's performance. Period-over-period analysis. No six separate reports to read.
  • Direct line to Tom. Bonehead's owner and the person actually building your ads. No offloading to cheap help, no juniors, no account exec layer.
  • Quarterly strategy review if you want one. Email, Zoom, phone, whatever works. Not a paid extra.

Booking flow

If your booking flow needs a page, we'll handle it.

Some studios run ads straight to DM. Some need a tracked page in the middle. Some build a longer audience first and switch to lead forms or contact submits once it's compounded. We work out which fits your setup, not which sounds best on a sales page.

If you already have a studio booking page, depending on the platform (Squarespace, Reap, Jotform, your own site), we can usually integrate tracking directly so leads flow through your existing form straight to whoever handles admin.

If your current setup won't take tracking, we'll build a separate tracked landing page for the campaign. Lives under our system, designed for one job: turn the ad click into a lead in the studio's inbox.

Not the headline. Just part of the job when it's needed.

Pricing. Two ways to do it.

Studio brand only, or studio plus each artist.

Option A. Studio brand only. $749 NZD/month (small studio, 3 artists or fewer) or $949 NZD/month per location (4+ artists). We run ad campaigns for the studio's IG and FB accounts, the studio's brand, the floor as a unit. Walk-ins, guest spots, conventions, studio-level audience growth.

$749 to $949 NZD/month

Just studio-brand marketing. Ad spend on top, paid directly to Meta from the studio's account.

Option B. Studio + each artist. Studio package PLUS individual campaigns for each artist on the floor. Each artist gets their own audience, creative, ad spend, and DMs, treated as a solo client. 30% off each additional artist beyond the first when stacked on a studio package. The 30% applies from the second artist onwards (Artist 1 is full price; Artists 2, 3, 4 each get 30% off).

Example, 4-artist studio with all 4 artists marketed individually:

  • Studio package: $949
  • Artist 1: $549
  • Artists 2, 3, 4: $549 × 0.7 = $384.30 each ($1,152.90 total)

≈ $2,651 NZD/month management

Each campaign has separate ad spend paid directly to Meta from the relevant account. All optional. Start with just studio-level and add artist campaigns later if you want.

Studio reading

Worth reading before handing us your floor.

A note on DMs, leads, and AI chatbots

DMs are valid. Leads are the next step up if your studio wants one.

For a lot of studios, DMs are the long-term answer. The studio account handles enquiries the same way it always has, just at higher volume. That's a legitimate end state, not a half-finished setup. We build for it the same way.

For studios actively scaling, the campaign matures. Once the audience has compounded and the data is clean enough, we layer in lead-form ads, contact-form submits, or email capture so admin staff get higher-converting enquiries with proper tracking sitting on top of the DM volume. That's especially useful in multi-artist studios where attributing leads to specific artists matters. Lead ads typically convert at roughly double the rate of DMs, and once leads are tracked, we can start optimising the campaign toward booked tattoos directly. Both setups are valid.

On AI chatbots: we include the basic message automations Meta requires when running engagement-style ads. That's the bare minimum the platform asks for, nothing more. Some agencies push full bot funnels as a way to close DMs fast — useful for walk-in shops in tourist-heavy locations, less useful for studios building real audiences around their artists' work. We're not the right fit if you want bots replying to DMs in your studio's voice. We are the right fit if you want growth without changing how your front-of-house handles enquiries day to day.

Studio owner questions

Stuff studio owners actually ask.

Do you run ads for individual artists in our studio, or just one studio account?

Both. We can build campaigns for the studio account and separate pushes for individual artists. Pricing scales per artist after the studio package: $549 NZD/month per artist, with 30% off each additional artist when stacked on a studio package.

What if an artist leaves the studio mid-campaign?

We pause that artist's spend and shift focus to the remaining roster. No new fee, no penalty. The studio package covers the studio account either way, so the studio brand keeps running without missing a beat.

How do you handle multiple studio locations?

Each location is treated as its own studio for pricing. Two locations means two studio packages. If you've got a chain, talk to us about a bundled rate.

What if our artists post in completely different styles?

That's normal. We segment audiences by style. Neo-trad gets shown to the neo-trad audience, blackwork to the blackwork audience, fineline to fineline. The algorithm's good at this if the creative is matched to the right people, which is what we do per-artist instead of running one studio-wide ad.

Do you talk to artists directly or only the studio owner?

Default is studio owner. If you want us to coordinate with individual artists for creative and scheduling, we'll set that up. Studio owner stays in the loop either way.

Can we cancel if it isn't working?

No contracts. Month to month. If something isn't working we'd rather fix it than have you cancel, but the door's not locked. We recommend committing 3 months because audiences need that long to compound, but you can walk any month with no exit fee.

What kind of results should we expect, and when?

Most studios see DM volume and profile-visit lift within the first month. Real audience signal, the part where the algorithm understands who books which artist, usually clicks at the 4 to 6 week mark. We can't promise specific bookings. That comes down to your artists' work, replies, pricing, the studio environment. What we can promise is steady audience growth and visibility for every artist on the roster. Results vary by location, style, and demand.

Do you only push DM bookings, or can we run lead forms / contact submits too?

Both. DMs are usually where we start because they give the algorithm the fastest signal and the lowest cost-per-conversation. Once the audience has compounded, we test lead-form ads, contact-form submits, or email capture, especially for studios with admin staff handling enquiries systematically. DMs aren't always the final goal; for some studios, leads or emails convert better long-term. We test what maps to how your studio actually handles enquiries.

Honest check before you fill this in

  • The studio has 6 or more months of work in Instagram
  • You can commit at least $600 NZD/month on ad spend
  • You're open to running for 3 months if it's working (no contract, just the time the audience needs)

If those don't sound right yet, save us both time and come back when they do.
